Tech21 SansAmp Programmable Bass Driver DI Pedal
Condense your bass rig into a stombox with the SansAmp Programmable Bass Driver DI Pedal by Tech 21. Using the footswitches you can instantly recall 3 custom presets for different sounds. Sounds can be created on the fly by adjusting the pedal's drive, EQ, and level controls, which, when combined with the SansAmp amplifier emulation, provide a wide array of tonal choices to cover you on any gig.

Features:

  • Drive and DI Pedal for Bass Guitar
  • 3 Programmable Presets
  • Functions as Stompbox or DI Box
  • Powerful EQ and Drive Sections
  • Simultaneous 1/4" and XLR Outputs
  • Power via Optional 9V Battery/DC Adapter
  • 48V Phantom Power Compatible
  • Low-Z Outputs for Long Cable Runs

All Analog Signal Path
Adding to the pedal's versatility is the output selection. Having multiple outputs allows for mixing and matching signal chain options. For example on a live stage, you can send a balanced DI signal to the mixing board or console while using the low-Z or parallel 1/4" outputs to route the signal back to your amp for real-time monitoring. Low-Z outputs can drive long cable lengths without signal deterioration, ensuring your bass signal arrives without attenuated high-frequencies or excess noise. For going direct to a mixing board or studio console, the XLR terminal on the SansAmp Bass Driver DI outputs a balanced signal and can receive 48V phantom power from the mixing board or studio console to fully power the pedal and all of its functions.

Controls
Presence: brings out the upper harmonic content and attack. For a smoother high end and for clean settings, decrease to taste.

Drive: adjusts the overall amount of gain and overdrive, similar to when the output section of a tube amp is being pushed.

Bass & Treble: Unlike passive controls that only cut, these active tone controls cut or boost -12dB from unity gain (12 o clock). This powerful EQ section effectively reduces the need for a fixed frequency mid control and enables you to achieve an extensive variety of curves --including a mid-cut as well as a mid-boost.

Blend: allows you to blend the direct instrument signal with SansAmp Tube Amplifier Emulation circuitry.

Level: adjusts the output level of both the 1/4 and XLR outputs.

Speaker Simulation
Within the tube amplifier emulation circuitry is a speaker simulator which models a multi-miked bass cabinet. The tonal response is smooth and precludes the possible peaks, valleys, and notches associated with single-miking techniques.

"Lazy Pot" Adjustment
This is a safety feature engineered for the Drive and Level controls. When you "unlock" the EQ settings, for instance, they will "jump" to the new setting of the knob position. For the Drive and Level controls, however, this could result in you jumping out of your skin if they're at a high setting. With the Lazy Pot, there's a gradual increase to the new setting position, giving you time to turn it down.

Presets
Easily store a preset by double-tapping a channel's footswitch. When you turn a knob from its stored position, a channel indicator LED will blink. The slower the blink, the farther away you are from the preset point, and vice versa. The LED will stop blinking and remain on at the preset point.
