  • CONTROLS

    TMB505's control diagram

There are two stacked knobs on this bass. The top knob of the stack closest to the end of the body is the treble boost/cut, and the bottom knob is the bass boost/cut. The top knob of the stack closest to the neck is the volume control, and the lower knob is the pickup balancer. With the bass held in the playing position, there is a square switch near the upper horn of the bass. When the switch is in bridge position, the EQ is on. When the switch is in neck position, EQ is off. When EQ is off, the treble boost/cut knob works as a passive tone control knob.

  • FREQUENCY RESPONSE

The variable range becomes slightly larger in the high range than around 1000 Hz, but it becomes zero again near 5000 Hz. The variable range of the peak frequency is approximately ±15 dB. The treble boost/cut frequency curve creates a bell-shaped curve with a peak around 10000 Hz and zero variable range around 100 Hz. The variable range of the peak frequency is approximately ±15 dB.
