The Tama 5.5" x 14" SLP Series Vintage Hammered Steel Snare Drum features a 1.2mm-thick shell with steel's characteristic bark, modified by the hammering into a darker and more complex tone.
The 10-hole Sound Arc Hoops are softer on your hands than true die-cast hoops, but they provide more rim shot cut and bright attack than a standard flanged hoop. Brass tube lugs provide strength without dampening the shell - and they look great!
This drum is nice and crisp, with a touch of warmth that takes it beyond "loud" music and makes it very applicable in the studio or in genres that need less bite.
