Line 6 RELAY G10 II Digital Guitar - Instrument Wireless System
We designed the Relay G10 instrument wireless system to be as easy to use as a conventional guitar cable. Simply plug the G10TII transmitter into your guitar, bass, or other instrument and it automatically synchronizes with the receiver via the optimal wireless channel. Use the Relay G10 at home, rehearsals, in the studio-and it is compatible with all types of guitars and basses. There's also a balanced XLR out in addition to the standard 1/4" output, for increased flexibility when connecting your G10 to recording interfaces, mixers, and other devices.
Digital vs. Analog
No signal squashing or annoying hiss
Analog wireless systems use the FM radio band to transmit to the receiver, which requires that the audio be compressed to avoid bumping into the channels on either side of the one you're transmitting on. Compression reduces gain above a certain level, which has the effect of flattening out the audio. In other words, the sine waves become squared off. Noise is also introduced from the FM process, further compromising the signal-to-noise ratio. This noise increases as the transmitter gets further from the receiver, causing noticeable hiss. Line 6 digital wireless systems don't use compressors or expanders and the signal is binary-so it's not affected by noise.
